the fps mentioned isn't the first shooting game but frame rate ... i was told by a friend in kl who went to wcg in 2007 but got kick cause he adjusted the frame rate from 60fps to 100fps.. is this not allowed ??
i have been studying a little on this matter.. i found out that my mouse doesn't respond as fast as 100fps when at 60 fps.. so if we want it to respond faster without changing the sensitivity but only the fps... is it allowed in official matches?? ea wcg or eswc ?? isn't it officially LAN cs 1.6 matches to be at 100fps??
ps: of course the sensitivity needs to be changed to our liking but i mean the "response" when we move the mouse was kinda slow at 60 fps compared to 100fps..

Boosting your fps doesn't actually affect your mouse response. Its just how much the monitor frame refreshes itself in response to your mouse action. ^^ Another matter in cs that is involved with fps rates is that players might have experienced guns not reloading properly or the shooting animation not executing properly. Official Lan matches are required to be set to 100fps actually. your friend might have gotten kicked due to the fact that he used an external program to boost his fps. You can boost your fps without any external programs in Gizmo actually. just tweak the nVidia video control panel from quality to performance. If u need any assistance on how to adjust your refresh rates , just require help from the counter. Another way to boost your fps is by using an external program called "refresh lock". In any case , good topic thread. Cheers.

i get what vantilica was trying to say about fps vs mouse sensitivity. to think abt it, i reckon it does, based on my personal experience in UG previously..but i'm not sure bt the theory behind it
fps 60 = sens 3 fps 101 = sens 1.6
u do the math...

it does get slower mouse response in lower fps. depends on the rules n regulations. mostly not allow to use any external program. if it not tweak to 100 fps using their graphic card driver, inform the marshal or the organizer.
