Jacob "Maelk" Toft-Andersen, captain of the MYM DotA team, was kindenough to share some updates of the team, discuss future plans andclear up some of the communities questions.
Confident and positive
TheMYM DotA team's popularity has grown not only because of their skill, but their diversity as well. North Americans were excited to see thenew recruits, former coL members Clinton "FearDarkness" Loomis and John"ezy" Chow. The duo made it onto the prestigious DotA squad shortlyafter their return into the competitive DotA scene and have beenworking hard to stay at par with their teammates.
"I wasn't thereto witness the massacre against VP, but the outcome was sort ofexpected so I didn't really bother too much about that. In the matchessince then, both official as well as training games, they've beenabsolutely fine and up to par. We are still getting to know eachotherand the timing is still a bit off, but it is definitely improving bythe day."
Aside from their 0-2 loss to the newly reformedVirtus.Pro, the team also lost the first game in a bo3 against srs. Inthe first game, srs used Goblin Techies, but it was an overfarmed Lunathat cost them the game.
"Well, I suppose the first game against serious-gaming became difficultonce we realized that we could actually lose. We were messing around alot, and kept going in pairs against their entire team rather thanpicking teamfights and eventually lost due to their overly farmed Luna.It wasn't really hard to begin with, but as the game proceeded werealized that unless we did some perfect fights we weren't going to winthe game. Needless to say, we didn't manage to get off good fights."
