Here is the news from GosuGamers.net
With a succesfull edition of the Samsung European Championship finished we can look forward to the next continental Championship, the World Cyber Games Asian Championship coming up in August.
Despite rumors of moving the WCG Asian Championship to either Malaysia or Thailand, the finest gamers in Asia will again meet in Singapore for the third consecutive year.
Just like the last year, Asia¡¯s largest regional cyber gaming tournament will be held at the International Convention & Exhibition Centre Suntec Singapore. Situated next to the Central Business District, Suntec Singapore is at the heart of a self-contained, totally integrated events infrastructure, only 20 minutes from Changi International Airport.
As showed in the event calendar of the Suntec Hall, the event organized by Rapture Gaming Pte Ltd, will start the 7th of August and will end August 10th. Meaning that the event will fall together with the Singaporean national holiday called National Day
According to the website VisitingSingapore.com the event will see 140 gamers from 14 countries fight for a combined $15,000 US Dollars worth of prizes and a place in gaming history. Last year the Warcraft 3 prize money partition was $ 1,600 for first place, second place took $600 and the bronze medalist will walk away with $400. Making a total of $ 2,600 for the warcraft 3 Competition. However nothing is said so far about the prize money for this year's edition.
Last year it was the Korean SoJu who defeated New Zealand's Kowi fairly easy to take first place. Stay tuned as we expect to see the games, participating countries and more information about the event to come out soon.
