Following four days of intense competitions filled with both triumphs and upsets, the Flash DotA 2 League 2013: Season One draws to a close with the crowning of Zenith as the first ever Flash DotA 2 League champions.
From the overwhelming response in its inception to the loud cheers that erupted at the Alienware Arena when Zenith triumphed over First Departure at the Grand Finals, the Flash DotA 2 League 2013: Season One has finally drawn to a close after four days of intense competition with the crowning of Zenith as the Professional League's first ever champions.
On the day of the Amateur League, three out of sixteen teams that qualified for the Amateur League did not turn up while one team was also disqualified for reporting to the competition late.
No-showers and latecomers aside, the Amateur League concluded with a surprising twist when First Departure upsetted Zenith in the grand finals of the Amateur League to emerge as champions of the Amateur League.
Following their upset, Team Zenith came back in full force for the Professional League, competing against the likes of Team [L]ittle, Team DsD and Team DzK before meeting their rivals First Departure in an epic best-of-three showdown.
The grand final matches were closely fought with neither team giving way or making mistakes; the atmosphere was tense as the players shouted and screamed in excitement, barking out orders and strategies.
Team First Depature: Runner-up of the Professional League
In the first game, Zenith managed to seize first blood from First Departure and stayed neck to neck in kills. Through a series of team engagements where Zenith was able to take out First Depature's Meracle, Zenith established a clear dominance in kills and went on to secure a clean victory.
The second game saw Zenith establishing a clear lead early in the game by securing two kills over First Departure. The excellent drafting by Zenith also saw them being clearly in control of the game. Recognising this, Zenith pressed on the advantage, claiming towers aggressively before kiliing Roshan and ending the best of three series with a Zenith victory.
