With regards to Lowyat's Thread, Gizmo Gamers have decided to include Kuching's own DotA Ranking System.

The purpose of this ranking system is:


  • To encourage the organization of Professionally organized Dota tournaments around the local community.
  • To provide support for potential organizers to ensure the highest quality tournament management.
  • To encourage participation of tournaments by providing a tangible ranking to improve upon.
  • To justify teams seedings in future tournaments to come.


The ranking seeks to divide tournaments into 3 categories of tournaments in relation to its importance.

The division are as follows :

Category A Tournaments:
1. ESWC Malaysia National Finals.
2. WCG Malaysia National Finals
3. Asian WCG Grand Finals
4. SMM Grand National Tournament Finals (SGNDT).
5. Online tournaments which are held at the National Level.

Category B Tournaments:
1. ESWC Malaysia State Qualifiers
2. WCG Malaysia State Qualifiers
2. SGNDT State Qualifiers.
3. Grand Finals of Cyber Café’s sponsored leagues.
4. External Cyber Café Sponsored tourneys.

Category C Tournaments:
1. Cyber Café’s sponsored tournaments.


The rankings will be calculated based on the results or the round a team reaches.

The rankings are calculated as follows :

Category A Tournaments:
1st : 920
2nd: 780
3-4 : 642
5-8: 504
9-16: 360
17-32: 222

Category B Tournaments:
1st : 460
2nd: 390
3-4 : 321
5-8: 252
9-16: 180
17-32: 111

Category C Tournaments:
1st : 230
2nd: 195
3-4 : 160
5-8: 126
9-16: 90
17-32: 55

Notes:

  • Amateur tournaments (Tournaments with banned teams) are not included in this ranking system.
  • Teams must have at least 3 of their existing players in case of roster change for the team to maintain their points in the ranking system.
  • Please contact Gizmo Gamers at 082-460992 for verification of points allocation if your team is participating in an online tournament.
  • Teams co-operation is encouraged to ensure the practicality and function of the ranking system.


The ranking points are based on the current tournaments taking place in Kuching as well as a few Garena Tourneys:
1. Gizmo Lunar New Year Competition 2009

3. MHLR Retribution Season 7

good move, however in order to make it a "Kuching's own DotA Ranking System", perhaps this could be forwarded to all cyber cafe organizers in Kuching?

It was suggested by underminer + SMM Boss etc. I think it'll involve all Malaysian team from each state. The ranking makes up for seeding of teams and also make a great match in advance. GL to the system!

Team ImbaGods is about to join the E-War DotA Online Tournament soon. If let say we join that tournament, does it will increase our ranking points? I just asking.. :)

Yes it does affect your ranking points. since it is a national level online competition, more points would be awarded as well. just post ur results up. after we verify your team from the results we will update the ranking. =) Good luck in the tournament!!

Thanks rolls. As stated, we need all the cooperation from various teams and individuals to ensure the practicality and function of the ranking system. although not as impressive as a ranking in the national level, but at least as a guide line for our local community's ranking. =)

No problem. As long i'm with no current team participation to tourney, i'll be more free to get some updates as fast as possible. The national level tournament would mostly start at March and around April ends. Looking forward to it! Good luck!~

Great! I'm sure team iGs standing will be change after we compete at cozee II and E-War tournament.. Hmm~~Gizmo Mix got join E-War tournament also wor.. ;D

I'll be posting up IMBALanC UCPro Tournament as well. Requires 1.22 + UCPro Client (50mb) enough. The tournament will start around 28th March 2009.

It hasnt been "loudly" announced yet. As... erh you need the UCPro Client to get the news on registration. No links, it's like Garena's client up till today.
